Eco-Drive™ for Commercial and Fleet Vehicles

Eco-Drive™ for Commercial and Fleet Vehicles is a training program uniquely combining fuel efficiency training with environmental sustainability education, specifically designed for drivers in the commercial road transport sector. The program has been developed by industry leaders Linfox in conjunction with sustainability specialists Andromeda. Eco-Drive™ has official endorsement from the Australian Logistics Council (ALC). The program can be taught as a face-to-face module for classroom environments, or as an interactive course accessible through the internet.

The global financial crisis, climate change and rising fuel costs represent great challenges for the commercial road transport industry in Australia. Eco-Drive™ for Commercial Vehicles has been developed to assist transport operators achieve fuel efficiencies while driving down costs and reporting action against harmful greenhouse gas emissions. The highly interactive course helps drivers to understand the issues around climate change which in turn encourages them to consider driver behaviour changes to make an impact on fuel savings.


The program is fully interactive, using the very latest animation capability in Macromedia Flash, designed to work on any normal PC or Mac.  

 
All the lessons require input from drivers, in the form of multiple choice questions, games or other tools to enhance engagement and comprehension.


Where possible, each lesson associates specific driving behaviours with potential fuel savings, to show drivers the potential of behavioural change behind the wheel. 


The program is designed with the training challenges of a driving audience in mind, including literacy, ESL, experience with computers and other challenges.  The training can be read via text (as above) or a corresponding voice over can deliver the training. 


The training can be accessed via the internet, or a corporate intranet and has been designed to work on broadband and narrowband.  The program can also be used as an in-class aid and delivered face to face.
